On June 27th, 2010, the Izip Store promoted the future opening of their first electric bicycle store which will open this August, in Venice, California. There were over 300 LA city lovers riding their bikes 18.5 miles through different downtown neighborhoods and landmarks, from historic, folkloric, and urban to modern. Passing City Hall, Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Pueblo, Staples Center, the 3rd street tunnel, the Fashion District, Wholesale District, Grand Hope Park, the 4th and 6th street bridges, LA Live, and other remarkable downtown locations. It was a very well organized, enjoyable way to explore the city. The Izip Store donated an Izip Via Lento electric bike to this wonderful and green event to help motivate citizens to park their cars and experience riding their bikes as an alternative: to school, work, grocery shopping, gym, park, library, etc., and encouraging people to stop using gas powered bicycle, especially for these types of short distance trips (usually 3 to 4 miles).
